Baraboo may not be the center ring anymore, but it’s where the magic started. From 1884 to 1918, it was home base for the Ringling Brothers as their circus grew into the biggest show on earth. Eventually, they teamed up with Barnum and Bailey and moved the whole operation east, but many of the original buildings still stand tall here. Lisa and I spent the day exploring the circus museum, catching a couple of live shows including trapeze action, and wandering through an impressive collection of circus wagons. It was a day full of color, nostalgia, and a few big-top-worthy memories of our own.
