It was one of those classic Madison summer Saturdays when I visit Lisa — sunshine, fresh produce at the Farmers Market, lakeside drinks and cheese curds at the Terrace (bonus: we scored a spot in our top-secret parking lot), and a few errands. Then nature must have decided I was getting a little too comfortable. While we were strolling through the Botanical Garden, I made the rookie mistake of chuckling at a sign warning of protective red-winged blackbirds. Until one of the winged sentries dive-bombed me -full force - right in the back of the head. Apparently, those birds don’t take kindly to sass.
