As it was, we visited the aquarium, splashed in the river walkways and fountains, took the water taxi across the Tennessee River to Coolidge Park, and enjoyed live music and good food at an outdoor festival on the river's edge.
Of course, I'll never live down the fact that I picked a horrible motel. Lisa and Katie said it felt like we were in an episode for "Cops" with the police activity and lots of yelling outside until the wee hours. I finally pushed the couch up against the door and front window so I could keep an eye on the rental car. To this day, just mention 'the hotel in Chatanooga' and you'll get stories from Katie and Lisa.
