Indiana, Ohio and Michigan
May 25, 2014
"There are 62 state tripoints in the United States with 35 on top of land, 24 walking on water, and three in no-man’s land between water and land. Like visiting as many countries as you can or walking to the top of the highest point in every state, there is a certain allure to standing in three states at the same time." After crossing Indiana into Ohio and then navigating a series of little country roads (thank you Google Maps), we came to a monument erected by Hillsdale County of Michigan telling us we were 130 feet north of the place where Indiana, Michigan and Ohio meet. From there, we counted that distance as best we could the distance down the middle of the one lane road and found what we decided much be the tripoint. And then, well, did the only thing I could think of to be in all three at the same moment. |
