Along the Indiana Toll Road

I don't know whether we had low expectations or just no expectations when embarking on this very short weekend adventure through states #43 (Indiana), #44 (Michigan), or #45 (Ohio), but it turned out to be a very fun trip with beautiful iconic scenery -- the red barn on the side of the road, main streets lined with flags (it was Memorial Day weekend), and quaint neighborhoods. We met lots of friendly folks and enjoyed too much good food. The weather cooperated too -- there had been hailstorms the weekend before and thunderstorms the day after we left, but our days were both in the 80s and clear.
