I
still haven't learned one of the most important lessons my mom taught
us: always have a change of clothing and towels in the car. And if there's even a remote possibility that you'll be anywhere near a
body of water, better throw in the swimsuits too. What was I thinking, taking Lisa and Katie to a Sea Festival at the Pier in street clothes with no back-up supplies? We walked to the end of the pier and back, stopping to see the exhibits and a few interesting fish. But then the girls suggested we go down to the beach. And within minutes, we were all romping in the waves getting our clothes soaking wet. (The next day, we went back well-supplied with swimsuits, towels, boogie board and sunscreen.)
