Just off the highway is an old general store and the best pie store on the island (more about that later). But if you go out back, and follow a dirt trial about a third of a mile toward the mountains, you come to the Olowaly Petroglyph cultural site. Believed to be about 300 years old, there are dozens of drawings visible. Apparently, the soft lava made an excellent tablet for drawings. We saw human figures, weapons, and animals.
