To celebrate A&W's 90th birthday, the stores were giving away free root beer floats until 8pm tonight. We headed over to West Sacramento after dinner, prepared for a crowd -- but found no line, no fanfare, just a rather bored young cashier who said, "you want two?" as she pointed to the small promotional sign on the counter.   

We thought about enjoying our frothy floats in the store, but the overwhelming smell of fried chicken from the co-located KFC was a bit too much for Lisa and me.  

"At least this will make a good web page," Lisa reassured me. But as I held up my camera to the vintage jukebox and A&W sign, I noticed there was no memory card in my camera. 

The whole outing was a bit anti-climatic but the floats were delicious.
