I remember driving to work several months ago and the DJ was talking about a new musical she had seen in New York. I'd never heard of "Dear Evan Hansen" but she was raving about it and strongly suggested people get tickets before the Tony nominations come out because they will be impossible to come by after that.

So I bought a pair.

Lisa, my partner in nonsensical travel adventures was -- of course -- up for a NYC weekend trip this spring. (There was never a doubt in my mind.)

The soundtrack to the show was released in February and it replaced Hamilton as my audio companion on my lunchtime walks for the past couple of weeks. I had all the words memorized, but purposely didn't try to figure out the details of the story.

Today was the day, and everyone in the original cast performed for the matinee. (I always worry about that). And it was great.
