New York City, New York

March 3, 2017

Took the red-eye to New York where Lisa met me for a fun (and very cold) weekend.

Today, we saw the World Trade Center and memorial, visited Alexander Hamilton, had pizza for lunch in the West Village, shopped, enjoyed a light dinner, and then saw Josh Groban in The Great Comet of 1812 -- a musical based on 72 pages (or something like that) from Tolstoy's War and Peace.

But the most memorable moment of the evening came as I was finding my seat. When I got to the row, there was a coat on my chair and the woman on the other side asked if that was my seat? "Yes," I replied. "Oh. Then I'll have to put my coat on the floor," she said, looking very disappointed.  "Unless you want to put me on the floor," I deadpanned.

She didn't respond (but I think she actually contemplated the idea).
