When I worked in downtown Los Angeles in the early 1980s, Angel's Flight was both a distant memory and an idea being considered as part of Bunker Hill redevelopment plans. I had forgotten all about it until it was the scene of murder in a novel I read this summer. We found it out on our downtown tour today, and took a ride. And unlike the victim in the book, we are still breathing.
