We talked about Sacramento politics and the whereabouts of former staffers. We talked briefly about the hot topic in LA that week -- the recent circus wedding of Kim Kardashian, whose grandparents were good friends of the Deukmejians.
The Governor told the story of his cancelled flight home from Sacramento the previous day, and how the airline wanted to put all the passengers on a bus to Oakland to catch another flight. I resisted the urge to say, "did you tell them who you are?" because I know that sort of bravado would never have occured to him.
Food was great. Gloria and I tried to decline dessert, but the Governor would have none of that. We shared the bread pudding, and he ate the ice cream. I should have known.
