We were disappointed when we initally couldn't find a hotel reservation in Door County for the weekend. But persistence paid off and we finally snagged one at this charming and very relaxed resort motel on the water in Sturgeon Bay. It has its own beach, kayaks, onsite restaurant, and offered something I'd never heard of -  a fish boil. The menu is pretty basic and includes cod, potatoes, carrots, onions and rye bread.
