For years, I've been eyeing the artwork of my former co-worker, Jim Marxen. A couple of weeks ago, he posted a photo of a new painting of Hollywood that I decided to buy.  The painting was on display in a gallery in Loomis with limited weekend hours due to COVID, and no interest in shipping it to Southern California. So Katie and I mad a rather large detour on our trip to the river and picked it for its long journey home.
