Shanghai, China
December 30, 2019
When I was planning our trip, all of our return flights from Thailand had layovers of
at least several hours in Shanghai. And with a little more reading,
I found out we could get a transit visa to
stay overnight in Shanghai. That gave us the chance to ride the Maglev high-speed rail from the airport into the city. Then Katie successfully navigated the subway trip the rest of the way to our hotel, and after settling into our room with a stunning view of the Bund (obscured only slightly with fog), we set off for the nearby Yu Garden shopping area. Each section of the neighborhood was decorated with colorful lights and filled with shoppers and tourists taking in the sites. Fun with food video |
