We had been warned against comparing Disneyland and Walt Disney World. "It's like comparing apples and oranges," someone told us. But during our day at the Magic Kingdom, it was especially hard not to connect the two. More than once, I walked out of a familiar ride and was startled to see something completely different.

It was a great day with new adventures at Mickey's Philharmagic show, the Castle, the longer Jungle Ride, Aladdin's Magic Carpet and Snitch's Great Escape were great new experiences. I was also thrilled to see Carousel of Progress and Country Bear Jamboree after all these years, and happy that the girls finally had the chance to enjoy those too.

The takeaway message? There's plenty of magic to go around.
