Our office building has a reputation for the least reliable and slowest elevators in town. Waiting 4-5 minutes for a car isn't unheard of. And after one of my co-workers was trapped for two and a half hours on a Friday night while the repair company fetched the part from San Francisco, I realized it's not a bad idea to use the restroom before boarding.  

A few months ago, a major replacement project began and the first of the new elevators was unveiled today. To mark the occasion, the building manager asked me to pose for a couple of pictures that would fancifully illustrate how fast the new units are.
