We loved Capitol Child Care Center (later calld Child's Play). The director was Ann Marie, a young Irish woman who was wonderful, and the rest of the staff was caring and thoughtful. It was close enough that I could walk over at lunchtime to check on Danny. And for a year or so, I served on the board with several people that remain friends to this day.
Rubia was one of Danny's favorite teachers. She used to rub his back at naptime with a simple 'Goodnight' lullaby that I sang to the kids for many years. Tonight, the school and the board hosted a fun evening picnic and to wish Rubia well on her retirement.
