Estes Park, Colorado

Having skipped dinner last night, we were ready for a hearty
breakfast. First stop was for coffee at a little place on the side of a
small lake with a patio and Adirondack chairs. I could have stayed there
all day. But from reading the Yelp reviews, we knew the line-up at Cinnamon's Bakery starts early so we drove across town (6-8 blocks) and were second in line, with about 30 minutes to wait before the place opens. By the time the doors were unlocked, there were at least 25 people behind us. The store is only open for three hours each day or until all 20 dozen treats are sold. It's known for its drool-worthy cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, and a fruit flavor of the day pastry. "We'll get anything except apricot," Lisa and I agreed on the drive over. Flavor that day was apricot. (We got it anyway.) |
