Zion was the biggest surprise of our Southwest road trip.  Sure, we expected it to beautiful, but we were amazed at how wonderfully big and spectacular the park was. Enormous canyon walls, towering sandstone cliffs, weeping walls, cool mountain streams and lots of lizards.  

Katie participated in the Junior Explorer program in the morning, while Lisa and I took an easy hike along the Virgin River. After lunch, we all joined up to take the park shuttle and hiked on three trails: Riverside Walk, Weeping Rock Trail and Lower Emerald Pool Trail.
