Albany, California

June 1986

I don't remember the specifics, but for some reason, Joe's company sent him and a couple others back to Albany for a few weeks to build a very large tilt-up building that was going to be used as a warehouse for Honda outdoor and garden products. It was an unusual offer, but the pay was quite a bit better than his wages in Sacramento, and the company also paid for his airfare, hotel and meals. It was a no-brainer.  Article

Near the end of his time there, I found a cheap ticket on Frontier Airlines and flew back to meet him. We were in Albany for only a day or two before heading to Boston for the weekend.

Little did I know that 30 or so years later, I'd be back here many times to visit Lisa while she's in med school.
