Dalhart, Texas
January 14, 2017
Katie was in charge of the map on this
adventure and, until we started driving to our overnight destination, I
didn’t realize we were going to cut through the northwest edge of Texas. It has been a long day and a long drive (about 350 miles at that point)
and I was hangry. “Since we’re in Texas, I want a steak for dinner!” I demanded. We found a great cowboy-themed steakhouse on the outskirts of the town of Dalhart. The steak was very good, but the bread, well, the bread was the best I’d ever had. I could have eaten just that. But then came the steak and it was good too. And on the entry wall of the place was a
branding wall where we even found our two sets of initials. It was
clearly meant to be. |
