March 1992

Last summer, we made plans to go to New York City for a week, and mom agreed to come to Sacramento to watch Danny and Lisa. It was harder to leave them than I expected, but we once we got there, we had a great time seeing all the sites. As an added bonus, we were there in the days leading up to the Presidential primary and saw Jerry Brown campaigning down on Wall Street, and were in the audience when Bill Clinton was on The Donahue Show. I'd also met a woman on Prodigy who regularly stalked the cast of All My Children outside the studio where they taped. So I met up with her one day and we got to see a few of the stars.  John was working as a political consultant at this time and regularly had to step away from us to find a pay phone (this was before everyone had cell phones) for a meeting or to get updates from his office.  Looking back now, the most iconic of the photos is the one with the World Trade Towers in the background. We did go to the top of the buildings, and also had drinks at Windows on the World, the stunning top floor bar and restaurant one evening. Glad we didn't pass up the chance to do that and have the memories.
