Ketchikan, Alaska

August 26, 2012

Ketchikan is the rainiest city in America, with more than 300 days of rain on average each year. When you step off the gangplank, the first thing you see if the giant rain gauge on the dock. But we hit town on what obviously was one of the best weather days of the summer. Sunny and low 70s. It was just about all anyone could talk about.

"Hey see those bears, and don't you love this weather?"

"And here are some native totem poles. Fantastic day, wouldn't you say?"

"Try the fresh halibut sandwich at Burger Queen, and be sure you sit outside so you can enjoy the sunshine."

You get the point.
