I'd forgotten what it is like to work in a high-energy office -- where people walk fast. They talk fast too and expect that you do the same. They even have a name for it: huddle. "Let's huddle," they'll say, and it means I'm not the least bit interested in hearing what you did last weekend, or that you accidentally put on one blue shoe and one black shoe while dressing in the dark (which I did today), or about the great cup of coffee you got from the espresso cart downstairs. Nope, they just want an answer and they want it now. And, by the way, no excuses. It sounds a little brash, but it's kind of a refreshing change to be in an office where timeframes are tight, people are serious, and efforts are focused. So, you may ask, what great things are you doing? I'll let you know in about 18 more weeks when we wrap up this project...
