It was from Macy's in Sacramento and at the time, was one of the most expensive dresses I'd ever bought. Linen, tailored, and it fit perfectly. Red wasn't a color I wore much, but it was close to Valentine's Day and red is the color of love, so it seemed perfect for our engagement photos.
Months later, when money was tight, I decided to put it in the washing machine instead of taking it to the dry cleaners. Of course, that thrifty move ruined the dress and I had to throw away my investment.
And here is Tabby also in red. This is one of my favorite photos of here as a young girl. This might be pre-1987.
