The court battle has been raging since before I arrived at Metropolitan. In fact, just after I accepted the job offer, someone I trust strongly recommended I reconsider my decision because of how toxic the issue had been for the organization. She was right in that dealing with the issues, the anger and the lies has probably been the least favorite part of my job. Today though, it felt like the good guys (us) finally won when the Supreme Court declined to hear a petition to review the appellate court decision that was largely in Metropolitan's favor.  It won't be the end of the battles. But it was something worth celebrating. And after work today, we did.
