Ever since they changed the dates of the State Fair from late August to mid-July, it's been hard to get into the mood to go.  The Fair signaled the end of summer, and who wants to feel like the end of summer is a month early. But Katie and Lisa talked me into going on the final day of the Fair. We went early enough in the day that it wasn't too crowded or too hot, and swore off anything on the midway. Just animals and the exhibits. A much saner State Fair experience, even if it is too early in the year.
