When I started at Met last year, one of my first meetings was with Nancy, the woman who was the spark behind the annual Spring Green celebration. She was a a force of nature, according to all accounts, single-handedly planning and organizing this showcase of environmentally friendly products, services, ideas and innovative student projects to conserve and protect natural resources.
Several months ago, we met to talk about this year's event. She wanted to get a head start because she was going to be out for several weeks for a planned surgery. She unexpectedly passed away a few weeks later.
It took about a dozen people to do what Nancy used to do herself, but the end result was another fun and inspirational event with several hundred vendors, students, and participants.
I'd like to think Nancy would have been proud of what we accomplished.
