I didn't know what to expect from Solar Cup weekend, but everyone I work with assured me it would be fun and memorable learning experience. They were right. Lucky for me, I avoided the late season rainstorm on the first day of the event, and then landed a prime spot on a boat on Lake Skinner for the endurance races on the second day. On Sunday, we judged the boat designs, watched the sprint races and had a great time as the 400+ high school students competed for top honors with their solar powered boats.
