For Great-Grandma Geneva's 80th birthday, the family gathered in Lake Tahoe to celebrate. At dinner the first night, Katie made her debut as a photographer, getting Grandma and her two sons, uncle Jim from Florida and Grandpa Lloyd, to don these shades and pose for a Kodak moment. As a sidenote, we were pretty broke that spring, but somehow Joe and I ended up paying to rent the large house where the whole family stayed. One of the guests won a pretty big jackpot at the casinos and I thought he might offer to chip in for the lodging. He didn't. Even years later, I remember how much that stung.
