Hollywood and Burbank, California
August 9, 2013
We didn't see any stars, but we sure saw a lot of Hollywood
--from the Pico House near Olvera Street which serves as the
exterior for the headquarters in "The Mentalist," to a filming
of "Parks and Recreation" on the back side of the downtown LA
office building where I worked for Central City Association in
the 1980s, to the obligatory visit to Hollywood and Highland and
Graumann's Chinese Theater, and then the backlot tour of Warner
Brothers. We had never taken the studio tour before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But our guide was great. She showed off many of the exterior and interior shots of Pretty Little Liars, one of Katie's favorite shows, and took us inside the sound stage for The Mentalist, Alizee's favorite American TV show. I'm not sure what the other 12 people on our tour bus thoughts, but we were so excited. Later that afternoon, we had tickets to see the taping of a new NBC comedy, "Sean Saves the World." No cameras allowed inside, so no pictures, but here is the preview: Video It was long, but lots of fun. The warm-up comedian and the audience was as fun as the show itself. And it's where we met Spandy Andy. |
