Washington DC
March 17, 2018
About a month ago, weather watchers expected this to be the peak weekend
for cherry blossoms in DC. But winter lasted a little longer than
expected and most of the trees around the tidal basin and the rest of
the city are still waiting for warmer temps to show their colors. Lucky for us, Lisa had heard that a few of the trees at the Congressional Cemetery were starting to blossom, so we spent part of the afternoon over there enjoying the scenes. The cemetery is among the oldest institutions in D.C. and the final resting place for scores of individuals who were instrumental in the founding of the nation and its new capitol city. It's still an active cemetery...and an off-leash dog park. |
