Calipatria, California

You can barely find the tiny town of Calipatria on the map, but they have a big focal point for their civic pride. While meeting with some local residents to talk about the future of the nearby Salton Sea, one of them pointed out the city's most famous landmark. "See that flagpole over there? It's the tallest one in California." It's 184 feet tall -- and the elevation at the top of the pole is exactly Sea Level.
