While Jerry and Alex dined at Paula Dean's restaurant, we wandered along the Savannah riverfront. The view was nice, but the area was cluttered with typical tourist shops. Only after we went in search of our own lunch did we venture inland a few blocks and discover the more interesting and beautiful part of the city. There, we saw many of the squares that showcase a well-planned city graced with stunning 18th and 19th century architecture, elegrant ironwork, tree lined streets, impressive churches, historic statues and fountains.
