We spent a good part of the afternoon with Ray, a master pumpkin carver who has worked at Disneyland for the past few Halloween seasons.

Do they tell you what to carve? Usually no, but yesterday there was a media event and they asked me to carve a couple depicting the park rides.

How long do the pumpkins last?
Depends a lot on the weather but usually 3-4 days.
