The day before Lisa was born, we went to a pumpkin patch in the Natomas area, just north of downtown. At the time, it was a mostly rural area.  Since then, about 40,000 homes have been built in the area along with countless stores, an NBA arena and a greatly expanded airport --  but this nice pumpkin patch remains. I was thrilled that Lisa decided to invite her friends there to celebrate her 18th birthday.
