Last years' New Year's weekend, I was working at the state's flood center thanks to a series of strong storms battering northern California. This wildlife preserve, adjacent to the Feather River north of Sacramento, was under several feet of water at the time. But it has been a mild winter (so far) and this was a nice place to goof around on the last weekend of 2006.
