We gathered at the Beckers' new house with other friends from church to celebrate New Years Eve. We used to ring in the New Year at midnight but a few years ago decided it was far more civilized to celebrate on East Coast time, give our hugs and kisses, and be home in bed long before 2012 arrived on the West Coast.
