In packing for our trip, I explained to Danny and Lisa how brutally cold Chicago winters are, and even insisted Danny wear long pants and take a sweatshirt. Turned out it was one of the mildest late Decembers the city had seen. Danny was forced to wear his long pants, but reminded me several times that he would have been fine in shorts.
