She didn't just pass her driving test, but did so with flying colors. 

Katie later told me that she almost made a right turn that would have triggered a 'fail' because there was a shrub that partially blocked the view of oncoming traffic. But fortunately, the stoplight turned green before she started the turn, so all was good. The instructor mentioned this to Katie at the end of the test, telling her, "I was hoping so much that you didn't make that turn because I've never wanted anyone to pass as much as you."
