Years ago, when I had just moved to Sacramento and started working for the Governor of California, I became friends with Michelle, Bob and Eileen who were also working in politics. We became great friends, vacationed together, were in each others' weddings, shared the good times and helped each other in the tough times. As years passed and our lives took different paths, we lost touch. But this year, we reconnected for a marvelous and memorable weekend. Between us, there are 10 kids now, and our families scattered all over the map, but in a lot of ways, things hadn't changed at all.
