Pulling a 'Kramer vs. Kramer' More Photo Album Home

My good friend Mark once referred to act of landing a new job during the
holiday season as 'pulling a Kramer vs. Kramer.' It refers to the scene in the 1970s movie when Dustin Hoffman's character schlepps his advertising portfolio from office party to office party on Christmas Eve, desperate for a job so he can retain custody of his son, despite the fact that most businesses have a holding pattern on these kinds of decisions well into the new year. By mid-December, I knew I was still in the running for the new job. I'd had another phone interview, a background check, and a couple of my references had been contacted. But I had also prepared myself for the possibility that I wouldn't hear anything - good or bad - until after the holidays. So it was great when, just a few days before Christmas, I got the call and the job offer. And gladly accepted. Today, MWD put out this very nice announcement. |
