The other families started arriving. Not just the other parents, but also cousins, siblings, family friends and grandparents. Soon there was a houseful of people. One family arranged for a photographer who took portraits under a backyard arbor that the host had readied for the party.
Another had rented a limousine so the kids could travel safely and in style to the prom and at least two after-parties. It was a bit overwhelming. I just hope I can redeem myself at next year's party.
