One of the responsibilities of my job at the Central City Association was to work with the city's Community Redevelopment Agency. Most of their work was on properties in the downtown business center, but they also had a large project of condominiums and townhouses in Monterey Hills, about five miles north. Jerry and I went to look at the models on Via Marisol. It was nice, new and close to my work and Jerry's classes at USC, so we decided to take the plunge an buy a two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit.
