When Grandma was alive and I would stay at her place while traveling on business, she would often take me to Hofs dinner. If her friend Wes came along, we would eat in the dark lounge in the back where smoking was allowed and Carl the bartender made a mean martini (or so I'm told).
This was our last visit before the place closed at the end of February. Something about being unable to negotiate a new lease. There are other Hofs in the area, and I suppose we will venture a bit further on Saturday mornings for pancakes and those potatoes. But I'll miss this one.
