Several years ago, the communication directors for the various departments in the state's Resources Agency met every Monday to update each other on current issues, press inquiries and upcoming events. Sandy, who ran the meetings, aptly called it our Monday Therapy Session because it often ended up being the meeting equivalent of a group hug.

Today, as I was getting ready to finish a long week at the office, Sandy texted me. "Getting off the train at Union Station to meet Jay Alan for the Dodger game. If you're at work, maybe you can make a surprise appearance?"

I text right back that I'd love to.

"Holy Dear God, had no idea you'd actually be here," he replied.

Glad that I was. And the three of us could once again have a mini-therapy session before they headed off to the game.
