The Erawan Shrine is a large and lovely spirit house connected to the Grand Hyatt in busy downtown Bangkok. It is famous for bringing good fortune. We visited it twice, once on the first night of our trip and this afternoon when we were out shopping.
There are Thai dancers and dozens of locals and tourists there praying, offering flower garlands, lotus, incense and candles. Caged birds are also sold so that they can be released for merit making and to bring good luck.
Lisa bought two cages. She must have figured we could use some good luck.
