While
waiting in line to get into the venue on day one of the EW Popfest
event, I struck up a conversation with a couple behind me. After it
became clear I didn't know too much about several of the featured
celebrities or TV shows, the guy asked me, "Why are you even here?"
It was a good
question. I was a bit out of my element at this showcase of TV shows,
movies, music, writers and bloggers. But still had a lot of fun in the
sessions and wandering around.
I also got to meet up
briefly with a couple of people I listen to regularly on the radio,
including one personality, Julia Cunningham, who was nice enough to take a photo
with me and autograph a program for Lisa (who absolutely should have
been here this weekend).
Day Two happened quite by accident --
with Lisa landing a couple of VIP passes from someone in the Midwest who
missed their flight. And Katie joined me for a couple of hours to see a
comedy showcase and a table read by the cast of Bob's Burgers.
