The assignment was to prepare a visual presentation to describe Chapter 12 of The Grapes of Wrath. Most of the class was doing PowerPoint presentations, but Katie wanted something more creative. So she and her friend designed a Route 66 Board Game in which players would roll the die to move from Oklahoma, through New Mexico and Arizona, and eventually to California experiencings hardships and triumphs along the way. Some of the game squares also featured questions about literary devices in the chapter (it is an English class, after all) with bonuses for getting the right answers.
